Editing Your Content

If your site was set up with a content editor (Decap CMS), you can update text, images, and page content directly from your browser — no coding required.

Accessing the Editor

  1. Go to https://yourdomain.com/admin (replace with your actual domain).
  2. Click Login with GitHub.
  3. Authorise the app — you’ll only need to do this once.
  4. You’ll land on the CMS dashboard.

Making Changes

Editing a Page

  1. Click Pages in the left sidebar.
  2. Select the page you want to edit (e.g. Home, About, Services).
  3. Update the text in the editor fields.
  4. Click Save — a draft is saved but not yet published.
  5. Click Publish to push the change live.

Changes go live within 1–2 minutes via automatic deployment.

Replacing an Image

  1. Open the page or section that contains the image.
  2. Click the image field.
  3. Upload a new image (JPG or PNG, max 2MB recommended).
  4. Save and publish as above.

What You Can Safely Change

Page text and headingsDon’t delete fields — leave them blank instead
ImagesKeep images under 2MB for fast loading
Contact detailsMake sure email addresses are typed correctly
Business hours or pricingDouble-check before publishing

What You Should NOT Touch

  • Layout or design — contact us for design changes
  • Navigation links — these are tied to page structure
  • Any file outside the CMS editor — editing code files directly can break the site

Reverting a Change

All saves are tracked in GitHub. If you need to undo a change:

  1. Email us at sharewebbiz@gmail.com with a description of what changed.
  2. We can roll back to any previous version — this is a paid support call if outside the maintenance plan.
